The Sheep
In chapter 34 of the book of Ezekiel we are presented with a dramatic shift in tone. Previously, God commanded Ezekiel to pronounce judgment to Ezekiel’s people. Here, God speaks of His love and care for His own people—His sheep. An integral and necessary part of that care is His condemnation of those human leaders, the worthless and wicked shepherds who fail their flock by benefiting themselves at the cost of the sheep. One day the Father will install for His beloved sheep His perfect Shepherd.
