God uses His prophets not primarily to foretell the future but to call His people to repentance and back to God. In chapter 16 of Ezekiel, the prophet brings to Israel a parable, a picture of their utter depravity and wickedness that, when contemplated, is gut-wrenching and unspeakably disgusting. So what is the end of this matter? God’s ultimate action is infinitely more amazing and shocking.
