Hard times appear to be on the horizon for believers in the U.S. They are, in fact, already here for much of the world. No believer can patiently endure persecution without a clear understanding of God and the reality of His sovereign control over everyone and everything. Before John relays to us the future events of God’s judgment, we are given a much-needed view of God Himself and that which surrounds Him.
