The return, the second coming of Jesus Christ, is about the return of His complete and total rule over humanity. While it is now covert, it will then be overt. Jesus came the first time, some 2,000 years ago, to save His people from their sins. His next appearance is for a vastly different reason, for He is coming as the Mighty Conqueror; as He became the sin offering for His people in righteousness, so He will make war and judge in righteousness. For some, Christ’s second coming is welcomed and longed for, but for most it will be absolutely frightening beyond compare. Are you the object of Christ’s affection or the object of His wrath?
