Today’s text describes the second beast, who will be a religious leader whose sole purpose is to make much of the first beast. He will do so, deceiving the world by a number of means with immeasurable success so that there is world-wide voluntary worshiping of the first beast. But why? What is in the heart of man and what will be going on to cause such universal adoration of Satan’s christ? What challenges will the church face at that time, and how can we prepare for such a time?
